Independence Expo

I have been so busy these past couple of weeks!Ā  I have been on vacation and back home.Ā  What a great time me and the munchkin had with my mom!

The plane ride went fairly smooth and I was impressed with the amount of help we got with all of our luggage.Ā  Ā We took my son to his first theme park to ride the kiddie rides and he also enjoyed Chuck E Cheese quite a bit.

Then, the Independence Expo.Ā  In my opinion, it was a total success!Ā  It is always filled with great vendors, workshops and information!Ā  My workshop brought great participants and questions.Ā  It also gave me lots of new ideas of how I can help others.Ā  I am grateful to have had the experience and opportunity.Ā  In the near future, Ā I will talk about the new projects that are in the works.

I just want to thank everyone for their continued support and encouragement.Ā  I will be back in a couple of days with new topics and information…

Early Voting Experience

Ever since I was 18 years old, I have been registered to vote.Ā  In my opinion, it is very important to participate in this part of American government since it ultimately shapes different aspects of society.Ā  That being said, I have always voted via absentee ballot.

Today was a different story.Ā  We stopped at the local library where I found out they were my designated polling place so, I decided to take some time toĀ cast my vote.Ā  It was a great experience!Ā  TheĀ poll workers were friendly and helpful during the process.

I am not a political person but, to me, it is so important that people go out and vote because not every country is as lucky as we are.Ā  I once worked with some people who thought that because they have a disability, no one would really care about what they had to say, and that their vote would not make a difference.Ā  Everyone, and IĀ do mean everyone, can make a difference and has a say in how this country is run.Ā  The only way to have a say in how this country is run thoughĀ is to get out there and vote.

There is a procedure on how to request an absentee ballot, if that is what you need to help you exercise your rights.Ā  I even know that my local poll workers receive disability sensitivity training to help those with disabilities when they go to the polling places to vote.

No matter who you vote for, the important thing is that you vote so that your voice can be heard.Ā  Everyone can make a difference.

What has your experience been when it comes to voting?
